Christopher Rathbone performs Messiaen’s thrilling suite, La Nativité du Seigneur—nine meditations on the Nativity. This 45-minute masterpiece is renowned for its wonderfully coloured organ sounds, rich harmonies, and captivating rhythms which cannot fail to stimulate the senses and deepen our appreciation of the true meaning of Christmas, the feast of the Nativity of the Lord.

The recital concludes with the exhilarating toccata, Dieu parmi nous (“God among us”), – the perfect start to the Christmas celebrations.
