Experience an unforgettable night of bold resilience, dark humour, and raw storytelling. Based on a true story, Ahmed Masoud’s The Shroud Maker follows Hajja Souad, an 84-year-old Palestinian woman navigating decades of conflict with sharp wit and a sewing machine.

Living in the Gaza Strip, Hajja knows about survival—and business. Across decades of war and oppression, she has built her existence on a trade both practical and grim: making shrouds for the dead.
This exceptional one-woman black comedy exposes the intimate world of ordinary Palestinians, weaving together satire and true stories told first-hand to the writer. Loosely based on a real figure still living in Gaza, The Shroud Maker uses black comedy to paint an apolitical, vivid, and compelling portrait of resilience on the front lines of history.
Performed by Jan Thomas in the intimacy of the Wildman Studio, this is a vivid, timely and haunting portrait of life on the front lines.
