There will be a signed performance in BSL for the second matinee on Saturday 2nd May. The signer is Amanda Cross who told us: ‘I am a BSL performer for musical theatre productions. I have been signing for 40 years and have a wealth of experience with arena tours, productions and performances. My aim is to try to make musical theatre as accessible as possible for the deaf community, but also the addition of sign language can add an extra depth and element to a production to elevate a show for hearing people too. Even if a hearing audience doesn't understand the signs themselves, the emotion and meaning comes through which many people appreciate and can be incredibly moved by emotionally. Rather than being a distraction on the stage, a good BSL signer only enhances a show'.
