What is the Ilkley T5s?

The Ilkley T5s is the premier adult tag rugby event in LS29, blending community spirit with thrilling rugby action. It’s not just about the sport—it’s about making a difference. The tournament raises vital funds for the Principle Trust Children's Charity, providing underprivileged, disadvantaged, and disabled children across Yorkshire with free holidays.

How It All Began

Founded in 2024, the T5s began as a light-hearted challenge for Ilkley Rugby Club's junior coaches. Since then, it has grown, welcoming over 100 participants of all skill levels. Last year, the tournament raised an impressive £5,000, helping to bring smiles and lasting memories to children in need.

What to Expect in 2025

The 2025 tournament is set to be bigger and better, with:

• 5-a-side tag rugby games based on RFU U8 laws

• Squads of up to 8 players

• Fast-paced matches: 5 minutes straight through or 5-minute halves for finals

• Group stages and knockout rounds to determine the champions

Off the Pitch

The fun isn’t limited to the rugby field. Bring the whole family and enjoy:

• A tuck shop filled with tasty treats
