Addingham Scout Group held its annual Halloween fundraising event at Golden Acre Park, and raised a frightening £11,500!
The Leeds Scare Trails, which started in 2015 as the Ilkley Scare Trails, has raised over £90,000 for local charities and good causes over the last ten years, and one of this years beneficiaries, Andy’s Man Club [AMC], a men’s mental health charity with groups in Ilkley and surrendering areas received £3000.
A spokesman for AMC said:
"Thank you so much for your wonderful £3,000 donation, it truly means the world to us here at ANDYSMANCLUB. Your generosity helps keep our groups running and makes a real difference to so many men who rely on having a safe, supportive space to talk on a Monday night.
"Support like yours allows us to continue opening doors, raising awareness, and reaching even more men across the country who may be struggling. We can’t thank you enough for choosing to stand with us and for believing in what we do."
Paul Jennings who heads up the organisation of the event told us:
"What started as a last minute fundraiser has turned into the biggest Halloween event in the area and we’re so proud of how hard our amazing volunteers, including the Scouts work to raise money for some amazing causes. This year’s event cost just over £3000 to put on and we’re looking for local businesses to help us help even more by sponsoring the event next year."
