Colleagues and customers of M&S Ilkley have deposited their spare change into collection tins and have raised over £2000 in two years for Airedale NHS Foundation Trust’s Haematology and Oncology Day Unit (HODU).
Having selected Airedale Hospital & Community Charity as their chosen charity of the year for the second year running, staff members of the M&S store were inspired to raise funds for HODU after a former colleague received great care and support from the unit.
Laura Hepworth, Community Fundraiser said: “We’re really grateful that the staff members at M&S chose us as their charity for the second year in a row.
“We understand what a personal cause this is for them, and it’s been great to see another successful year of donations from both staff and customers of the store for HODU.”
Charity branded collection tins were positioned at the end of till points for customers and staff to drop their spare change into.
Nicola Wheeler, Customer Service Assistant at M&S Ilkley said: “We can’t thank our generous customers and colleagues enough for continuing to help us to raise funds for HODU.
“The Haematology and Oncology Day Unit at Airedale has remained very close to our hearts at M&S Ilkley, since providing our friend and former colleague with fantastic care. It has been our mission as a team to give back as much as possible.”
