What happens when the heart of the home meets the heart of the Dales?
Thomas Darcey Kitchens is collaborating with Ilkley artist Lucia Smith for a new Art in the Kitchen project, celebrating local talent and bringing a fresh cultural dimension to their showroom on Wells Road.
A spokesperson for Thomas Darcey Kitchens said:
"We believe a kitchen isn’t just about design and function — it’s a space for inspiration, connection, and creativity, which is why we’re excited to launch our new Art in the Kitchen project.
"Lucia Smith's bold Yorkshire Dales landscapes capture the wild beauty of the moors in vivid colour and light. Lucia’s work is all about experience and emotion — something that resonates deeply with our own approach to kitchen and home design."
The opening weekend is Saturday 6th [5-8pm] and Sunday 7th [11am-4pm] September when visitors will be able to meet Lucia in person, browse her collection, and enjoy complimentary prosecco, tea or coffee while exploring the showroom.
Lucia says:
“The Dales are timeless and inspiring, and my work is about capturing that feeling. Thomas Darcey’s approach to design has a similar focus on inspiration and creating something that lasts, so it felt like a natural link.”
Thomas Darcey Kitchens say their vision is for the Wells Road showroom to become a hub for local creativity, with a rolling calendar of artists and various community events throughout the year.
