Organisers of the Brilliant Breakfast Rise and Shine Ilkley have said a thank you to everyone who helped to make it such a successful event.
The event took place Saturday morning, 24th May, at All Saints’ Church in Ilkley, Alison Smith, one of the Brilliant Breakfast organisers said:
“A huge thank you to all who donated and to the women and girls who joined us for breakfast – it was a real treat to share the morning with you. It was a lovely opportunity to catch up with friends and a delicious start to the weekend – all wrapped up in raising funds for young, disadvantaged women.
“What started off as a simple idea to raise funds for disadvantaged young women turned into a something hugely impactful.”
Guests were treated to scrumptious fruit platters, veggie muffins, bacon baps, pastries and much more.

Alison added:
“The generosity of everyone who came along and the support of local businesses meant that we exceeded our fundraising target, we raised £1,017 for the King’s Fund. As well as raising funds it was a fabulous opportunity to catch up with friends, meet new people and to share stories about why this cause is so important.
“We would like to thank the Ilkley businesses who supported the Brilliant Breakfast which meant 100% of every donation will go to The King’s Trust.
“We were blown away by the kindness of Ilkley’s business community. Thanks to Lishman’s of Ilkley, Toast House, Co Op, New Brook St Deli, Hotel Chocolat, La Stazione, Booths S&B’s of Otley, Taylors of Harrogate, Sculpt and Wellness, Dottyprint, Enfields Luxe, Tardis Uk Ltd, Loafer Bakery and to Earth and Bloom who created the stunning decorations for the event. And a huge thank you to Natasha Byers of Toast House who very kindly volunteered her expertise to the Brilliant Breakfast kitchen – we are hugely grateful!”
As the event came to a close the remaining goodies were shared with businesses around town who kindly gave on the spot donations and with Ilkley Food Bank.
The Brilliant Breakfast is about helping young women gain the confidence, skills, and support needed to thrive in education and employment. Whether it’s financial hardship, lack of opportunity, or barriers to training, The King’s Trust works tirelessly to help break those cycles.
The Brilliant Breakfast Ilkley’s fundraising website is still open so you if you would like to make a donation go to https://events.kingstrust.org.uk/fundraisers/RiseandShineIlkley/brilliant-breakfast.
Organisers say ‘The Brilliant Breakfast was intended as a one-off event – but we expect we will be back next year!’
