Ilkley’s much-loved Christmas Tree Festival is back at St Margaret’s Church, lighting up your pre-Christmas celebrations on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 December, from 10am.
St Margaret’s on Queens Road will host 30 beautifully decorated Nordmann Christmas trees, supplied by Moss and Moor, each representing a local charity, community group or school. Regular favourites and new participants include Ilkley Community Network, Menston Community Fridge, Nell Bank, Ilkley Pool and Lido Community, Outside the Box and many more – all will showcase their creativity in a sparkling display

Children can join a Christmas decoration making workshop, run by Rombalds Guide District, at 12-1.30pm on Saturday 6 December. Create your own tree decoration to gift or to add to your Christmas tree when you get home.
Live music throughout the festival will add to the Christmas spirit, with performances from local primary schools, musicians and community choirs. For full timings, check the Ilkley Christmas Tree Festival Facebook page the week before the event.
Coffee, tea, juices, delicious cakes (baked by the talented bakers at St Margaret’s), mince pies, and other seasonal treats provide the perfect excuse to take a pew, catch up with friends and soak up the festive atmosphere.

Fr Alex Crawford, Vicar of St Margaret’s, said:
“We’re really looking forward to our wonderful Christmas Tree Festival again this year, and we hope that lots of people will come and join us to celebrate the work of Ilkley’s charities, community groups and schools. This year the proceeds will go to the charity Staying Put, which supports survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence across the Bradford area.”
Entry to the Christmas Tree Festival is free and all are welcome to join this joyful start to Christmas. The festival will be open 10am-6pm Friday and 10am-5pm on Saturday.
St Margaret’s will be holding two more Christmas celebrations that are perfect for the whole family. St Margaret’s Christingle Service will be held on Sunday 21 December at 9.15am (children might like to bring a present to donate to a family in need), and the Crib Service will be held on Christmas Eve at 3pm, retelling the Christmas story with carols and refreshments. All are welcome!
