The Friends of Ilkley Rail Station (FOIRS) held its first ever volunteer day last week supported by Northern Rail and the event was a success.
A spokesperson for FOIRS said: "During the rain interrupted day we painted lamp posts, fencing, cleaned station platforms and footbridge steps as well as refreshing some school planters.
"We would like to thank all volunteers friends, staff and children of Ghyll Royd School, Marketing Department at Northern Rail , Bradford Council local wardens. Thanks to Stazione for providing coffee and teas delivery service to station much appreciated. "
Finally thanks Richard Isaacs our Northern Rail Community Support Manager and Stuart Copley our new station manager."
