Ilkley MP Robbie Moore has visited local home care provider Home Instead to celebrate ten years of care in Ilkley and to officially open their new office premises.
Home Instead offers home care and visits to older people nationwide, with a wide range of services including domiciliary care, specialist care for those with more permanent health issues, health and complex care for those with a complex condition, and live-in care, where a Care Professional moves into a client’s home to provide companionship and support.
Founded in 1994, Home Instead came to the UK in 2005 and now has more than 255 locally owned offices across the country. Previously based at International Development Centre on Valley Road, the Ilkley branch has now relocated to The Point offices on Lower Railway Road.
Covering Ilkley, Skipton, Keighley, Bingley and the surrounding areas, Home Instead Ilkley employs 60 people and has provided over 500,000 hours of care to date, supporting 675 clients across the local area since opening ten years ago.
Mr Moore was welcomed by Directors Simon and Barbara White, who joined the business in 2019, and the full office team. Before officially opening them, he toured the new premises and learned more about the work of the business and the care it provides within the community.
The local MP was also delighted to meet one of the Ilkley branch’s oldest clients, Rex, who celebrated his 100th birthday last year.

Mr Moore had high praise for Simon, Barbara and the whole team for their hard work and achievements, and congratulated them on both their new offices and the milestone of a decade of care in Ilkley. He also expressed his honour at speaking with Rex, offering him special recognition for his remarkable life.
Commenting on the visit, Robbie Moore MP said:
“It was an absolute pleasure to join the team at Home Instead Ilkley to open their new offices and celebrate ten brilliant years of care across our area.
“Home care is so essential in ensuring older people get the care and support they need, and Home Instead does wonderful work for people in our community. It was great to be a part of their celebrations and look around their lovely new offices – and an absolute honour to cut the ribbon.
“The highlight, without a doubt, was meeting Rex, who is still going strong at 100! Rex has been an integral part of Home Instead Ilkley’s journey, and it was such a joy to speak with him and listen to his stories and wisdom.
“A huge well done to Simon, Barbara and the whole team for their hard work and continued success – here’s to many more years!”
