Local florist, Lionne Roper-Hird, has been named Best Florist in Yorkshire in the prestigious Muddy Stilettos Awards 2025, which celebrates the very best in independent businesses across the county.
Lionne, owner of Cosmos Flowers in Ilkley, received her award at the event held at Rudding Park in Harrogate last week, where Yorkshire’s category winners gathered to celebrate their success.
As the regional winner, Lionne will now go through to the Muddy Stilettos National Finals in July, representing Yorkshire in the race to be crowned the best in the UK.
Now in its 12th year, the Muddy Stilettos Awards shine a light on outstanding local businesses across the country. Uniquely, the awards are entirely voted for by the public with thousands of people across Yorkshire casting their votes.
Lionne commented:
“Winning this award is so special. I love my job and the community I serve, the out of the blue nomination and then the number of votes I received made me so proud of my achievements.
“I am a true Yorkshire Lass and the chance to represent our wonderful county makes it even more special, thank you loyal Cosmosians.”
Cosmos Flowers is renowned for its bespoke florals for every part of life, buying British wherever possible and adapting to earth friendly ways, Lionne is passionate about her business supporting her family, community and the world around her.
Lionne wasn't the only Ilkley winner, Luxe Beauty Lounge also picked up an award for Best Beauty Salon/Clinic and will be in the Muddy Stilettos National Finals as well.
