Climate Action Ilkley is inviting local residents to take part in one of two practical healthy homes workshops on Saturday 14 February 2026 at the Clarke Foley Community Hub.

The 1.5‑hour group sessions - running 11:00am–12:30pm and 1:30pm–3:00pm - aim to give people the skills and confidence to make their homes warmer, healthier, and more energy‑efficient.

Delivered by Wrapt Homes Ltd, a Leeds company specialising in home energy improvements, each workshop will combine a brief introduction to draught-proofing and healthy (ventilated) homes, with an hour of hands-on DIY draught-proofing practice.

A spokesperson for Wrapt Homes said:

“Good ventilation and good draught‑proofing go hand in hand. Simple DIY measures can make a real difference to comfort, energy bills, and the overall health of a home. These workshops give people the chance to learn the basics and try them out in a friendly, supportive environment.”

A Climate Action Ilkley representative added:

“We want to support Ilkley residents with practical ways to reduce their energy use and keep their homes warm. Last October Wrapt Homes gave us a talk about home insulation, at which attendees requested this workshop. So we hope that this will be a great opportunity for people to learn from the experts and build skills and confidence, while taking meaningful steps to lower bills and cut carbon. It is great to collaborate with Wrapt Homes once again, to support people to act locally to address the climate emergency and bring about a just transition to a sustainable, climate resilient town.”

Places are limited so booking is essential. Tickets cost £10 for Climate Action Ilkley members and £17 for non‑members, covering instruction, all materials and room hire. A limited number of free or subsidised places are available for Ilkley residents experiencing financial hardship. Tickets can be booked online, with the booking link on the Climate Action Ilkley website: https://www.climateactionilkley.org.uk/. Anyone unable to book online can email info@climateactionilkley.org.uk and request an offline booking.

On the day, participants will also have the option to purchase low‑cost moisture monitors from Wrapt Homes for £3 each (cash only) to support better home ventilation management.

Climate Action Ilkley is a local charity whose vision is for a sustainable, climate resilient town, where everyone is part of a thriving community living within the planetary boundaries. It welcomes new members and encourages residents who value community‑led environmental action to consider joining.
