Airedale Hospital and Community Charity were local charity partners of the 2025 Lexus Ilkley Tennis Tournament and have raised a phenomenal £5851.16 for their Emergency Department Appeal thanks to the generosity of this year’s attendees.
Funds were raised through donations, charity merchandise and a raffle with a top prize of four hospitality tickets to the 2026 Lexus Ilkley Tennis Tournament finals. The charity team were there from Sunday 8 – Sunday 15 June talking to local people about the importance of the Appeal and the difference they could make.
Jodie Hearnshaw, Charity Manager said:
“We were so pleased to be a part of this prestigious event.
“It was fantastic to see a local event so well supported by the community, we’ve enjoyed every moment of this week and we’re so grateful for the support shown by attendees to our Emergency Department Appeal.”
The Emergency Department Appeal now stands at £106,765. The focus of the appeal is to give areas within the Emergency Department a little TLC after nearly 10 years of use.
Areas of the Emergency Department will include a refurbishment of the paediatric waiting area, the bereavement facilities and the purchasing of new sensory equipment to improve the quality of care for visitors with additional requirements.
Gavin Sutcliffe, General Manager of Ilkley Lawn Tennis and Squash Club said:
“It is great to welcome Airedale Hospital and Community Charity back to The Lexus Ilkley open as our local charity partner.
“The work they do is so important in our community. It is great to use the high profile of our event to raise important funds to support their ongoing work.”
Funds raised for Airedale Hospital and Community Charity go towards the improvement of staff and patient wellbeing at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and the surrounding community, providing items and services that are above and beyond NHS provision.
