Ilkley Town AFC has today announced the appointment of Jacob Mistry as the club’s new First Team Manager.
The news follows the resignation of former manager Sam Dexter, and the committee standing down following a vote of no confidence.
Jacob Mistry from Steeton AFC, where he served as Assistant Manager to long-serving boss Roy Mason and played a key role in helping the club secure Step 6 status last season.
He previously led the Silsden AFC WYL side to back-to-back top two finishes and a League Cup win.
A UEFA B Licenced coach with a BSc (Hons) in Coaching, Mistry has a proven talent for player management and brings strong tactical identity and an established player network.
Ilkley Town says his enthusiasm, professionalism, and work ethic align closely with the club's values and long-term vision.
Speaking on his appointment, Mistry said:
“I’m honoured to take on the role of First Team Manager at Ilkley Town. I’m aware it’s been a challenging period for the players and the club, but my aim is to bring stability, clear direction, and a positive environment where we can continue to move forward. I’m excited about the opportunity ahead, and the hard work is already underway.”
Mistry’s first game in charge will be away at Appleby Frodingham on Saturday.
