Ilkley Town Council has been keeping an eye on the weather forecast and is pleased to see that it looks like it should remain dry for its annual Remembrance parade and service, which will be held this Sunday 9th November.
Remembrance events are an opportunity to officially remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life. This years’ service will commence at 3.00pm at Ilkley’s Memorial Gardens and will be led by Father Alex Crawford.
If you would like to take part in the parade before the service, which will include local dignitaries, members of the armed forces, and uniformed and civic organisations, please assemble on Whitton Croft Road at 2:20pm. The parade will progress in front of the Town Hall, then make its way along The Grove and into Ilkley’s Memorial Gardens in time for 3.00pm. A road closure will be in place along the route.
All are welcome at the Memorial Gardens and there will be an opportunity to lay your wreath at the end if you wish.
A collection will be held during the service for the Royal British Legion.
