International entertainment stars shine in Ilkley for one night only

International stars of Magic, Entertainment and Comedy will appear for one night in Ilkley to help raise much needed funds for Yorkshire Cancer Research.

The Ace Magical Variety Show will take place at the King’s Hall on 7th June 2025 and the lineup includes Britain's Got Talent star illusionists Matricks and comedy legend Jimmy Cricket.

The show is the brainchild of Bradford professional magician Steve Gore, whose wife Victoria was diagnosed with Breast Cancer one year ago.

Victoria said

“I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2024.  Following this I had a nine month journey of surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and am now on medication for a few years to come. It means a lot to me that Yorkshire Cancer Research helps raise money to push the boundaries of cancer treatments.  So many people’s lives are affected by this terrible disease.  Other cancer charities which deserve a mention are Maggie’s based at the St James’ in Leeds and Cancer Support Yorkshire based near the Bradford Royal Infirmary.”

[Steve, Victoria and family]

Magician Steve Gore, who was a former mentor of another world famous Bradford magician Steven Frayne, formally known as Dynamo.  They were both members of the Bradford Magic Circle together over twenty years ago and now are both Honorary life members.  Steven Frayne used to go to Steve Gore’s house to practice his magic routine before competing in the club competition.  Bradford is also the City of Culture this year and Steven Frayne presented his magic spectacular in Centenary Square in January.

Steve Gore aka ‘The Happiest Magician on the Planet’ is an inventor and creator of magic, whose tricks are actually used by thousands of magicians around the world including David Blaine, who Steve Gore performed for at the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood.  Other celebrities who came to Steve’s show include actors Josh Brolin and Yorkshire star Sir Patrick Stewart of Star Trek and X-Men fame!

The show will also feature Steve & Victoria’s children, as they are all experienced performers in their own right.  Their eldest daughter Deanna, aged 20, started out performing magic but now has her passion set on contemporary dance and she will also perform her aerial hoop act in the show.  She is currently studying her degree at the Northern School the Contemporary Dance in Leeds.  Their daughter Jenna, aged 17, will have a surprise guest appearance in the show and their son Emerson, aged 10 is one half of the magic duo Abra ‘Kid’ Abra, who will amaze the audience with their illusion act!  Victoria is having a guest spot in this act!
