Leeds Hospitals Charity joined Ilkley town centre this week with the opening of its biggest store yet.
The charity now has five shops across the region, following the opening of charity shops in Horsforth and Guiseley earlier this year.
The shop, next to Bettys on The Grove, will be open seven days a week, thanks to the support of dedicated volunteers and staff. It has a modern feel and is set over two floors, selling a wide range of items, from pre-loved fashion to homeware items, bric-a-brac and more.

The charity has also created a ‘community hub’ within the shop, providing a place with comfy seating and a coffee machine where customers to take a break from shopping, enjoy a hot drink and chat to staff, volunteers or their friends and family.
There is also a ‘hero wall’ inside the shop, with photographs to recognise the charity’s mantra of ‘Together, we can.’ It celebrates everyone from the hardworking NHS staff, inspirational patients, to incredible fundraisers, and volunteers who help make a real difference.
All profits raised from items donated to and sold at the shop will help Leeds Hospitals Charity fund projects supporting over one million patients treated every year, including thousands of people living in Ilkley.
In the last year, over 1,200 people from Ilkley were admitted to Leeds Teaching Hospitals and almost 200 patients were referred to Leeds Cancer Centre for specialist care.

Jake Hornsbury, Director of Retail at Leeds Hospitals Charity said:
“Ilkley is a real gem of a town with a thriving high street and we’re excited to have this wonderful opportunity to open our new concept store and welcome the people of Ilkley to our shop!”
“Our ethos is doing good and delivering a fantastic shopping experience, whilst making sure our customers can find high quality items at a good price. The Ilkley shop will help us raise awareness of the work Leeds Hospitals Charity does in the community and enable us to raise even more money to support our hospitals in Leeds where thousands of people from Ilkley are treated every year.”
Leeds Hospitals Charity provides over £6 million a year in additional funds to support Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The existing charity shops help the charity contribute even more money to fund things like, life-saving equipment, research into rare diseases and home comforts.
The charity is encouraging people in the local area to donate their pre-loved treasures to the shop and to enquire online or instore around volunteer opportunities.
Donations can dropped off to the rear of the shop on Back Grove Road, off South Hawkesworth car park.
