This year’s Ilkley Pride celebration on Saturday June 29th is set to feature a new lineup of acoustic artists across several genres as part of ‘Pride Unplugged’. These artists will perform in Ilkley’s Winter Garden during the evening.
Isabel Ashman, Production Manager for Ilkley Pride, said: “From the outset of my involvement in Ilkley Pride and Diversity in 2021, what has mattered most to me is sharing the group’s mission with the people of Ilkley; whether they’re members of the LGBTQ+ community themselves, or family, friends and advocates of those that are, we wanted to create an appealing, safe and inclusive space for everyone on the day.
Ilkley Pride has been hugely successful for the last two years, exceeding expectations and growing in popularity each year. This year, we as a committee, decided to broaden the scope of the Pride entertainment to appeal to a wider audience and attract new members of the community and their family, friends and advocates. Alongside the fabulous traditional entertainment on the King’s Hall stage, The Winter Gardens will showcase an alternative offering of “acoustic” style live acts covering jazz, soul, country, blues and more. The performers are all local members of the LGBTQ+ community and their families, all musicians with extraordinary talent including voice, guitar, Koto (Japanese harp) and trumpet.”
This year’s inaugural Pride Unplugged lineup in The Winter Garden on Saturday 29th June from 17.00-22.00 comprises The Sheds, Imogen Ross, Man Cave, Alex Ash, The Bleeding Obvious, Akiharu Kitagawa and Cooper Brown.
