The Ilkley community is invited to own a piece of local history as pieces of artwork made from the original fountain at the top of Brook Street are to go on sale next month.
In a unique opportunity for art lovers and local residents alike, original sculptural pieces from Ilkley’s renowned fountain installation will be available to purchase from The Tinker Gallery during a limited-time fundraising event.
These abstract forms, cut from the fountain structure and inspired by the intricate cellular structure of sphagnum moss, have been given a ‘glow up’ and meticulously polished and individually stamped by local Blacksmith Tom Bromley (pictured below).
Now transformed into standalone artworks, they will be sold at four price points; Small (£50), Medium (£75), Large (£100), and Extra Large (£125).

All proceeds will go directly to Improving Ilkley, supporting the upcoming Phase 2 of the Ilkley Fountain Project.
Sales will take place at The Tinker Gallery on Sunday 1st June & Sunday 8th June, from 11am – 3pm.
The sale is timed to coincide with “Just Disco”, a solo exhibition by Louise Hepworth-Wood, artist and trustee of Improving Ilkley. Running from 22nd May to 5th July, her exhibition reflects the spirit of collaboration and creativity that fuels Ilkley’s cultural development.
Gallery owner Jo Tinker said:
“Selling the fountain pieces during Louise’s exhibition felt like a natural fit. She has been central to the vision behind the fountain project. I’m thrilled to offer support to this initiative and give people the chance to own a small, beautiful part of Ilkley’s evolving story.”
Members of the public are warmly invited to attend the sale, meet the artist and support a project that is helping shape Ilkley’s future.
