The Pat's Party volunteer group once again broke its fundraising record, making £13,000 profit at its annual summer music festival in June.
This take its total in the 21 years since Ben Rhydding resident Pat Evans established the group in response to humanitarian need, to £187,000.!
Andrew Copsey, the group Chair said:
"Once again, the Ben Rhydding community came out in numbers to enjoy fantastic local bands at the music festival. The children had great fun, and everyone enjoyed the fabulous food and drink on offer."
The main beneficiary will again be Save The Children and for the third year running local foodbanks in Bradford and Keighley will also benefit from the funds raised.
Penny Southgate, Community Manager at the Salvation Army in Keighley, on receipt of the cheque commented:
"It has been a privilege working alongside Team Pat's Party. The amazing funds raised will support our ongoing foodbank but also our Victory Programme, a cooking programme designed to support people moving on from foodbank provision by teaching cooking skills and how to live on a budget. It has been tremendously successful in helping up skill and also supporting people who are lonely or vulnerable."
Other beneficiaries include 1st Ben Rhydding Scout and Guide group who support the event each year, Airedale Hospital and Community Charity, and Cancer Research UK.
