Piano soloist William Green hails from the area, and now works in Switzerland as a pianist. William will return to complete his performances of all Rachmaninoff’s piano concertos with Airedale Symphony Orchestra at the King’s Hall in Ilkley on Sunday 17 November 2024 at 3pm.
A spokesperson for the orchestra said:
“Rehearsing the concerto with the orchestra at a local church, William was old friends with the piano having performed on it at youth music competitions in the past!
“The concert promises to be a real treat, and a particular milestone for William as this will mark his performance of all Rachmaninoff’s piano concertos. Come and enjoy this extraordinary music, full of beauty, jazzy tunes and famous melodies that are always better heard live!
“The concert will be performing: Wagner: The Flying Dutchman overture, Rachmaninoff: Piano concerto no. 4 - soloist William Green and Sibelius: Symphony no. 2.”
Tickets priced £10-£17 (under 11's free) are available online: www.ticketsource.co.uk/airedale-symphony-orchestra, by phone 0333 666 3366, and on the door until sold out.
