Returning after a five-year hiatus, the All-Ears Listening Club in Ilkley ran from 2016 to 2020, with each event featuring six half-hour collections of music based around themes chosen by the music selectors.
2nd July, All-Ears Listening Club returns, now hosted by local promoters Village Pavilion at Bini Brew’s Taphouse. Whether the theme is simply a favourite musical artist or perhaps something a little more creative, you’ll be sure to hear some interesting stuff and perhaps be introduced to something new.
Common in Tokyo, listening parties, and more recently venues dedicated to listening to recorded music, have been popping up in the UK over the last decade, with the first listening venue in Leeds opening in 2024.
Whilst they don’t class themselves as a listening bar, Bini Brew’s Taphouse in Ilkley has a very considered sound system, thanks to music-loving owner James, who worked as a sound technician in a previous life.
Village Pavilion say:
"We’re bringing this event back to Ilkley, in partnership with Bini, because of their great drinks, relaxed taphouse atmosphere and their sound system!"
Everyone is invited to suggest musical themes for future events, Village Pavilion adds:
"It’s not DJing, simply selecting and sharing 30 minutes of music you love!"
Themes for the first event include ‘Music Recorded Underground’, ‘Shuggie Otis & Ray Barbee’ and ‘Songs to Die For’’.
Entry is free and the All-Ears Listening Club will be between 7:30pm – 10:30pm on Wednesday 2nd July at Bini Brew Taphouse, Drill House Business Centre, LS29 8EZ.
