On a fantastic warm evening 500 people dived, jumped and crept into the wonderful 18 degree water at Ilkley Lido for the first of this season's Full Moon Swims.
The event on Wednesday 11 June attracted people from Huddersfield, Wakefield, Harrogate, Leeds and as far away as Gloucester!
Many were first timers at Ilkley lido, and commented how they had 'thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful scenery, welcoming atmosphere, and of course their swim,'
Liz Hibbett one of the organisers said:
"Events like this showcase our town's wonderful pool. Local support is huge and everyone enjoyed a perfect summer evening."

Ilkley Pool and Lido Community Group raised over £2,500 from the event for the Lido.
Becky Malby, Chair of the group said:
"It is so good to have last year behind us and to be working well with the Lido staff to put on such a warm, friendly, calm, and thoroughly enjoyable event for everyone involved.
Our first Full Moon Swim sold out the week before, and we have already sold over 350 tickets for August so if you are thinking of coming along do get your ticket soon. It is a very special evening".
On the evening refreshments were provided by Abbey Ice Cream and Coffee Bean Machine and cakes from Ilkley Kitchen.

The following Full Moon Swims are on Saturdays 9 August and 7 September from 7.30pm, bookings can be made at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/ilkley-pool-and-lido-community-77812681453
