In May 2025 Ilkley Lido will be 90 years old and to celebrate the Ilkley Pool and Lido Community group is gathering stories and memories about the Lido and the Pool for an exhibition.
Ilkley Lido was opened on Saturday 4th May 1935 as part of King George V Silver Jubilee celebrations. The pool itself was designed by Archibald Skinner and today together with the pavilion is designated Grade 2 listed status.

A spokesperson for the Ilkley Pool and Lido Community group said:
“To celebrate the health and wellbeing benefits the Lido provides for us, we are gathering stories and memories about the Lido and the Pool.
“These may be big or small, serious or silly. Memories of competing in diving and swimming competitions, the highs and lows of knitted bathing suits or the venue where Grannie and Grandad met.
These memorials will be used to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Lido and be used as part of an exhibition in the Manor House.”
Ilkley was voted one of the top 10 Lido’s to visit in the UK by The Times in 2024.
