Most of the Ilkley community will remember Pamela Clarke from Girl Guiding, Ilkley Amateur Operatics, Ilkley Swimming Club and other charitable parts of the community.
Pam's family would like to let everyone know that she passed away peacefully in her sleep at Five Rise Nursing Home, Bingley on Sunday 20th April aged 97 years.
Deborah Hartley, Pam's daughter says:
"Pam was well loved and your comments and memories from a previous post on the Ilkley Chat Facebook page regarding Pam were shared with her.
"Pam touched many hearts in Ilkley as a caring, creative and active leader in the Ilkley community. She created costumes for the Ilkley Amateur Operatics which you would have either worn or admired in productions between the 1980's and the 2010's. Many of you remember her as your Guide Leader during those same decades.
"As in life, Pam continues to help others and has donated her body to science and the National Repository Centre for medical research."
A memorial service to celebrate Pam's life will be held on Thursday 22 May at St John's Church, Ben Rhydding starting at 11;00am.
