A tag-rugby tournament hosted by Ilkley Rugby Club has raised over £7,000 for a charity which supports poorly and disadvantaged children.
128 players, comprising coaches, parents and guests came face-to-face on Sunday 27 April in the Ilkley T5s Tag Rugby Tournament to raise funds for The Principle Trust, which provides free respite breaks to children who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, have life-limiting conditions, mental health issues or who have experienced poverty, trauma or abuse. The money raised will fund much-needed respite breaks for twelve disadvantaged families.

Supporters turned out in force to support the ‘Tag-of-War’ which was sponsored by Ray Chapman Motors, whilst commentary was provided by Alex Cann of Your Ilkley.
16 teams advanced through a series of fast and furious qualifying rounds in which each match lasted just five minutes. In the Elite League Final, The Trundlemen fought off worthy opponents Inglorious Ruckers, whilst Social League winners AECOM beat The Social Barbarians. Wooden Spoons were awarded to Cheetham's Crusaders (social league) and Westville Dads & Old OGs (Elite League).
