Ben Rhydding Golf Club's 2023 captain, Andy Williams, chose Airedale Hospital & Community Charity as the Charity of the Year for the club, organising quiz nights and raffles to fundraise an impressive £3300.
Originally built in 1885, Ben Rhydding Golf Club is a true hidden gem. Situated just below the famous Cow and Calf rocks, the club has amazing views across the Wharfe Valley.
Alongside the raffles and quizzes, food was made for donations and members could make a donation to play a round with the Captain.
Andy Williams said:
“I chose Airedale Hospital & Community Charity as the clubs Charity of the Year as my family and I have been patients of Airedale. With it being our local Hospital, it’s a personal cause for me and for other club members who have also been patients.
“I’m over the moon with the support the fundraisers have had from our local golfing community, and I am grateful to everyone that has been involved over the last year.”
Jodie Hearnshaw, Charity Manager said:
“Thank you to Andy and everyone from Ben Rhydding Golf Club for raising such a fantastic amount of money to help Airedale and its community.
“We’re really grateful for their support and everything they have done for us in the last year as their chosen charity. We are extremely proud to have been chosen to work with this wonderful club ”.
Funds raised for Airedale Hospital and Community Charity go towards the improvement of staff and patient wellbeing at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and the surrounding community, providing items and services that are above and beyond NHS provision.
