Families have been finding this week out which secondary school their children will start in September.
The vast majority of pupils in Ilkley and across the Bradford district – more than nine out of 10 - have been offered a place at one of their preferred schools – most being offered their number one choice.
In the Bradford district, of the 8,068 applications received from parents and carers with children ready to move up from primary to secondary school this autumn, 94% per cent have been offered a place at one of their preferred schools with more than 78% offered their top preference.
The figures have been released as part of National Offer Day on 3 March 2025.
Councillor Sue Duffy, Bradford Council's executive member for children and families, said:
“Moving up to secondary school is a significant milestone for our young people, and I wish them all the best as they embark on this new chapter of their journey.
“This year 7,586 children have received an offer of a place at one of their five preferred schools - with 6,333 of those being for their first preference school.
“As ever, we have experienced high demand for secondary school places across the district and I am pleased that we have been able to offer so many pupils a place at one of their preferred schools for September. Every child who applied on time for a place in Bradford district has received an offer.
“We appreciate that some families may not have received the news they wanted. Our admissions team is ready to help with any queries."
