The Acapella Fellas, Ilkley’s lively all-male acapella choir, are on the lookout for new voices to join their weekly dose of fun and harmony.
No auditions, no fancy skills needed – just lads ready to belt out rousing sea shanties, uplifting gospel, cheeky pop tunes, gritty blues, sentimental country ballads and proper folk favourites, all without a single instrument in sight.
No experience required, no need to read or understand music, just a simple desire to sing in a group.
Founder Ged Faricy said:
“It’s less like a choir practice and more like a good night out with mates and music.
We laugh our way through everything from pirate chants to chart hits – even the off-key moments turn into stories over a pint afterwards.”
The group has been in existence for 12 years (formerly known as ‘Sing Your Rocks Off’) meeting every Wednesday night at 7.30pm in the Ilkley Bowling Club.
Ged added:
"Just turn up, grab a beer at the bar, meet the guys then we head upstairs to sing and finish around 9pm back in the bar.
"Around 15 members and growing – new faces always welcome."
