The Principle Trust Children’s Charity has announced its delight after the success of the Big Ilkley Quiz last week at the Craiglands Hotel, a valued Patron of the Charity.
The event brought together supporters, local businesses, and community members for an evening of competitive fun in support of the Charity’s mission to provide respite breaks for children facing challenging circumstances.
The quiz was proudly supported by headline sponsors High Speed Training and Your Ilkley, with Your Ilkley presenter Nick Babb also generously hosting the event. A total of 20 teams entered the quiz, including a strong representation from several of the Charity’s Patrons and long-term supporters. The Principle Trust wants to express a huge thanks to Tranmer White Estate Agents, TAC Electrical, Tax Assist Accountants Ilkley, Greenholme Carpets and Flooring, Gaughan Electrical, Dalrod Leeds, Watoto Play, and all supporters who attended the event.
The evening was also attended by the devoted Trustees of The Principle Trust, including founder Mike Davies MBE, Andrew Davies, Fraser Gowland and Jamie Kemp.
After several challenging rounds and a competitive atmosphere, the top teams emerged victorious.
This year’s winners were:
1st Place: ‘The Oracle’ - Ultraluxe Design Co
2nd Place: Health & Wellbeing Online.
3rd Place: Suzy Gray.

The Trust extends its heartfelt thanks to all participants, sponsors, and attendees for their generosity and enthusiasm. Funds raised from the event, totalling £2240, are the equivalent of sending three families on a respite break, helping more Yorkshire children enjoy much-needed time away with their families and carers.
Rose Lodge, Events Coordinator of The Principle Trust, said:
“Events like the Big Ilkley Quiz remind us just how strong and generous our community is. Every team, sponsor, and supporter who joined us has played a part in helping Yorkshire children and families create precious memories during difficult times. We are incredibly grateful for the kindness shown, and it’s heartening to see so many people come together to make a real difference.”
