A popular North Yorkshire greengrocer is set to join Ilkley Market next month as part of a four-week trial.
Browns the Greengrocers has announced it will begin trading at the market from Saturday 8th August, with a pitch opposite Bettys.
The family-run business says the move is a "huge opportunity" and is hoping local shoppers will help make the trial a success.
In a post on social media, the team said:
"This is a huge opportunity for us, and we'd absolutely love your support. We'll be starting with a four-week trial, and if it's a success, we'll be making Ilkley Market a regular Saturday spot!"
The business has already had great success at other markets such as Bishopthorpe, Tadcaster and Starbeck, where they will continue to trade every week.
Browns the Greengrocers specialises in fresh fruit and vegetables, with a focus on locally sourced produce. Alongside its market stalls, the business also offers online ordering, click and collect and local delivery.
The expansion comes as Browns continues to grow.
The business launched a recruitment drive for another member of the team to help with early starts, heavy lifting and preparing produce for customers.
Sharing a post on Facebook today (Wednesday 29th July), they said:
"Reliability is the number one quality we’re looking for. The role involves early starts, heavy lifting and plenty of hard work, so we’re looking for someone who’s dependable and ready to get stuck in.
"We’re flexible with the hours and can offer:
• Full-time
• Part-time
• Half days
• A Few hours each morning"
Anyone who is interested can send us a direct message via their Facebook page or email info@brownsthegreengrocers.co.uk
If the four-week trial proves successful, Browns hopes to become a regular fixture at Ilkley Market every Saturday.
