A year ago there were fears that Ilkley Pool and Lido could be closed with Bradford Council needing to save millions from its budget, until the Ilkley Pool and Lido Community Group successfully stepped in.
The group persuaded Bradford Council to keep the Ilkley Pool and Lido open, stating it is 'vital for our town's health and economy', and the group is now asking for residents and users to complete its short survey, and is appealing for new group and committee members.
Becky Malby, chair of Ilkley Pool and Lido Community Group, said:
“Over the past 12 months we submitted ideas for improving the pool and lido utilisation and efficiency. There has been some progress. Some changes we have been party too and others we have not.
“We have set up new events, facilitated collaboration between the sports groups in Ilkley and done our best to improve access and usage.
“We would like to hear your views about the services and activities offered. Please complete the survey by 1st September.”
The online survey is available at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfEvlH5s_a4X34188MzUuShS2T4Zq2UBpxMaBRlqKdFJHV8sg/viewform
The Ilkley Pool and Lido Community Group AGM is on 23rd September, Becky adds:
“We are actively welcoming new members to the group and the Committee. If you would like to make a real contribution to the future of the pool and lido you can stand for committee membership, we would love you to join us.“
