North Yorkshire Council has shared an update on the £82.5million Kex Gill realignment scheme.
Construction work on project is continuing, with several key elements of the scheme now underway ahead of its June reopening date.
A natural stone retaining wall is being built at the west end of the site, alongside the installation of a culvert at North Moor Road.
The culvert will channel water beneath the new road and into Hall Beck.
Backfilling work is ongoing at the large underpass visible from the old road, after which the concrete walls will be clad in natural stone.
Drainage works for the new carriageway are also in progress, while waterproofing continues on the bridge deck at Blubberhouses Bridge.
Elsewhere on the scheme, tree planting has begun and grass seeding using a wildflower mix is underway as landscaping efforts move forward.

Some temporary traffic restrictions are required as the project progresses. North Moor Road is closed for eight weeks at its junction with the A59 from 2 March.
Two-way traffic is in place at the same junction for eight weeks from that date, while two-way traffic lights are operating at Blubberhouses Bridge on the A59 until mid-May.
Church Hill is also scheduled to close at its junction with the A59 for eight weeks, currently planned for early May. In addition, overnight road closures will be needed towards the end of the scheme to allow for final surfacing works.
The realigned road remains on schedule to open in June.
