Ilkley dance school, Joze School of Dance, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with an Anniversary Show at the Kings Hall.
Since opening the doors in March 2005, Joze School of Dance has been dedicated to inspiring and nurturing dancers of all ages and skill levels. From its very first classes in Quakers Hall, Ilkley and Silsden Town Hall to the most recent performance on the Kings Hall stage, every step has been a part of an incredible journey, and owner Jo Sproston says she couldn’t be more grateful for the support of our students, families, and teachers:
“Over the past two decades, I’ve seen countless students take their first dance steps, perform on stage, and grow into incredible dancers, teachers and individuals. Our school motto is that regardless of age, gender or ability, everyone is part of the same “Team Joze”.
“From ballet to acro, jazz to contemporary, we’ve built a community centered around the art of dance, teamwork, and self-expression and I couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved.
“None of this would be possible without our passionate dancers, hardworking staff, and supportive families. Also massive thanks to my own family and friends who have supported me through the 20 years.”

Students and teachers are working very hard ready to perform in the 20th Anniversary Show, Jo adds:
“The show is a mixture of dance styles plus some singing, plus some surprises and nostalgia as we look back over the 20 years of Joze school of Dance.”
There are three shows: Friday 4th April 7pm [senior show], and two on Saturday 5th April 2.30pm [junior show] and 6pm [senior show].
