Dan’s Den at Christchurch, Ilkley’s beloved not-for-profit soft play centre, marked a major milestone with a special celebration on 4th July to honour ten years of serving local families.
The event took place exactly a decade since its doors first opened, bringing together volunteers, supporters, dignitaries, and friends for an afternoon filled with connection, cake, and gratitude.
Among those in attendance were Councillor Mohammed Shafiq, Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Jane Gibson, Mayor of Ilkley and Robbie Moore, MP for Keighley and Ilkley.

Special recognition was given to Reverend Roberta Topham, Minister of Christchurch, for her unwavering support of the facility. As she prepares to leave Ilkley, the celebration also served as a heartfelt farewell and thank you.

Manager Becky Lawson, picture above in the middle with the Dan’s Den team, shared:
“We felt it was important to throw a party on the 4th July to thank everyone who has played a role in its success, from its inception to today, to celebrate 10 years of laughter, friendship and support.
“It was lovely to see so many people who have been part of Dan’s Den over the decade and we now look forward to the next ten years as we continue, and evolve, the support we give to all families, whatever their circumstances.”
As part of its forward-looking vision, the Dan’s Den team will soon be launching a new website, offering fresh ways for families to connect and engage with the centre.
