Entries are selling fast for the 2026 Ilkley Half Marathon & 5K, with more than 2,000 runners already signed up for one of Yorkshire’s most popular running events.
Taking place on Sunday 12 July in the heart of Ilkley, the event continues to grow year on year, attracting runners from across Yorkshire and beyond. Sponsored by headline partner JT Atkinson, the Ilkley Half Marathon & 5K has become a major fixture in the regional sporting calendar, known for its incredible atmosphere, scenic route, and outstanding community support.
Whether taking on the challenge of the half marathon or enjoying the more accessible 5K route, runners can expect a professionally organised event with fantastic crowds, enthusiastic volunteers, and a brilliant race-day atmosphere throughout the town.
The Ilkley Half Marathon route offers a rewarding challenge through some of the area’s most picturesque scenery, while the 5K is ideal for beginners, families, and runners looking to enjoy the occasion without tackling the longer distance.

Pete Haigh, Race Director for the Ilkley Half Marathon & 5K, said:
“It’s incredible to see so many people already signed up for 2026. The event continues to grow every year and the atmosphere created by the runners, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters is what makes it so special. Whether you’re an experienced runner or taking part for the first time, it’s a fantastic event to be part of and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Ilkley next July.”
As headline sponsor, JT Atkinson is supporting another exciting year for the event, helping ensure the races continue to grow while supporting the wider community and local good causes.
The event has become about far more than running, bringing thousands of visitors into Ilkley and creating a fantastic atmosphere for residents, businesses, charities, and spectators alike.

Even if running isn’t your thing, there are still plenty of ways to get involved. Organisers are encouraging local volunteers to support the event across the weekend, helping with everything from marshalling to event operations. Spectators can also enjoy the lively event village on West Holmes Field, which will feature live music alongside a range of food and drink vendors, creating a fantastic festival atmosphere throughout the day.
With entries already moving quickly, organisers are encouraging anyone considering taking part to secure their place soon to avoid disappointment.
