Ilkley band Ten Fields are set to mark a decade of making music together with a special hometown concert this month.
The five-piece will perform at Ilkley Playhouse's Wildman Studio on Friday 23rd October, bringing songs from across their ten years together to a local audience. Ten Fields' melodic, guitar-led sound combines vocal harmonies with everything from quieter acoustic songs to fuller electric arrangements. The band's influences include Crowded House, Fleetwood Mac, Jackson Browne and The War on Drugs, while its members have received airplay on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 Music and performed at venues and festivals across the UK and Europe. One of the highlights of their first decade was recording at the famous Rockfield Studios in Monmouthshire, Wales. The studio has played host to some of the biggest names in music, with Queen recording Bohemian Rhapsody there and bands including Oasis and Coldplay also using its recording rooms. Ten Fields recorded five tracks there which went on to become The Rockfield Sessions EP. Guitarist Nathan Kelly said: “At the heart of Ten Fields has always been Rhys’s songwriting. "He keeps bringing in great songs and we get to shape them and help bring them to life. That’s what has kept us making music together for ten years. “Recording at Rockfield was a real highlight. "Making our own music in a place with that history was extraordinary, but what I remember most is the time to concentrate completely on the songs and on playing together. “Celebrating ten years with a hometown show in Ilkley feels particularly special. "We’re looking forward to sharing these songs with people who’ve been with us along the way, as well as those discovering Ten Fields for the first time.” Ten Fields are Rhys Kelly on vocals, keyboards and guitar, Debbie Harris on vocals and guitar, Rick Robinson on bass and vocals, Nathan Kelly on guitar and Henry Barker on drums and vocals. Their anniversary concert starts at 7.30pm on Friday 23rd October at Ilkley Playhouse. Tickets are priced at £12.
