Following a successful, if chilly, first run in February 2025, Ilkley & District Good Neighbours (IDGN) is inviting people to Dip & Donate again in White Wells plunge bath.
Helping to continue the charities vital work for the local community, this year the event is being held in June.
Delivered by an army of volunteers, supported by a small staff team, IDGN’s popular community projects include Shop Assist, Befriending, the Friendship Group, alongside the Dementia Hub and Café which are both aimed at people living with dementia and their carers.
Penny Coulthard, Vice-Chair of IDGN said:
“Whilst we rely on our fabulous volunteers to deliver the majority of our services, there are still significant costs we need to cover as a charity to ensure we provide the highest standard of service and support to our clients and those volunteers.
“We continue to apply for grants from trust and foundations but more and more these days they like to see evidence that we are raising money ourselves alongside anything they pledge; this is one way we do that.”
The Dip & Donate session is being held on Saturday 20 June, 10am-12pm at White Wells Bath House on Ilkley Moor.

The event has the support of White Wells tenants and proprietors Mark Hunnebell and Joanne Everall, who said:
“As a family we’ve seen at first hand the valuable help that Good Neighbours provides for older people in our community. We’re excited to be supporting them in their fundraising efforts by hosting a dip in the bath.”
Anyone who would like to take part just needs to register and make a donation – whatever the amount – on the Dip & Donate site: https://ilkley-and-district-good-neighbours.sumupstore.com/. Card or cash will also be accepted on the day.
Local companies and organisations are encouraged to participate, teams of up to six dipper can register using the online form.
For those who might prefer to donate but not dip there are plenty of ways to support IDGN on the website: www.goodneighboursilkley.org.uk
