An Ilkley charity shop has been nominated in the UK's Favourite Charity Shop Awards.
The search for the 2025 UK’s Favourite Charity Shop is on and the Yorkshire Cancer Research shop on The Grove is one of six nominated in Yorkshire and the Humber area.
Organised by The Charity Retail Association, the awards are now in their second year, and are a chance for people to show their favourite shops how much they mean to them and to celebrate the amazing work being done by dedicated teams.
The public vote will decide 12 area winners, to be announced on 6 October, and one overall winner, which will be named later in the year.
Customers commented about the Ilkley Yorkshire Cancer Research shop which opened in January of this year:
“I love this shop because it's so modern, spacious and thoughtfully laid out. The quality of the goods on offer is very high and it's fab that you can grab a cuppa from the in-store cafe whilst you're there perusing. There is always a warm welcome and a buzz about the shop.”
“The volunteers are great. They are always welcoming and have a smile on their face. The clothes are always immaculately presented. I never feel awkward going in on my own. Whenever I have donated something, they are always very appreciative.”
