On Friday 6th September, Ilkley Civic Society is launching a Blue Plaque to celebrate Semon Home which used to be off Westwood Drive.
Semon Home was established 150 years ago by Charles Semon, a former Lord Mayor of Bradford, as a convalescent home, and was demolished in 1995.
The plaque is being placed on the wall at the bottom of Westwood Rise.
Helen Kidman and Alex Cockshott will launch this 24th Blue Plaque with some interesting history of Semon Home at 4.30pm on 6th September.
Ilkley Civic Society invites people to share any family memories and pictures about the Home. Please email localhistory@civicsociety.ilkley.org.
