Ilkley climbing centre included in Sunday Times best family days out

Clip ’n Climb in Ilkley has been included in a new Sunday Times '32 of the best family days out in the UK' guide.

Covering the best children-rated activities across the whole of the UK, the guide has everything from riding rollercoasters to snooping round Harry Potter film sets. The Ilkley venue is one of only three in the north and northeast included in the national newspaper's pick of the best family days out.

Including Clip ’n Climb, editors Gemma Bowes, Kerry Walker and Siobhan Grogan said:

"A global phenomenon with branches all over the UK and world, including this one at Ilkley, Clip ’n Climb claims to have invented the concept of “fun climbing”. At these colourful centres, children can clip on to an auto-belay line system to scale zany walls and structures with unusually shaped handholds and challenges (entry £16.50; clipnclimbilkley.co.uk). Remind them not to climb the curtains when you check in at the Fell Hotel, with smart dining and stirring views over the rolling Yorkshire Dales."

The other three in the north and northeast England section of the guide are Jorvik Viking Centre in York, Alnwick Castle, Northumberland and Diggerland in Durham.

Sally and Richard Shelton own and run Clip ’n Climb Ilkley which is located within the Station Plaza near M&S. It's vibrant themed climbing walls are suitable for all abilities with climbers aged 2.5 all the way to adults. Further information is available on the website clipnclimbilkley.co.uk
