A part-woodland garden on the edge of Ilkley Moor is to open to the public again under National Garden Scheme for two days this week.
The owners, Lyn and Phil Short, are hoping to add to the £20,000 already raised at this garden, and last time over 400 people visited. The charities include: Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK, Carers Trust, The Queen’s Nursing Institute, Parkinson’s UK, and many more.
The garden features large trees with shrubs, ferns, flowers and lawn, with 2 wooden bridges over the natural stream and gravel pathways & steps, a large rockery and summerhouse with views over Ilkley, the Moor and Wharfedale.
The address is 5 Hill Top, Westwood Drive, Ilkley, LS29 9RS, and the garden is open Wednesday 29th May and Sunday 2nd June, 11am to 4pm each day.
Admission is £4.50 per person, with children under 16 free, payment by cash or card accepted.
Home-made cakes and refreshments will be available, with tables & chairs on the patio and lawn. There will also be a good plant stall.
Lyn and Phil ask visitors park responsibly on Wells Road, Westwood Drive and Queens Road, so as not to inconvenience neighbours and through traffic. Dogs are not allowed.
