The Ilkley Half Marathon & 5K 2026 has been hailed a major success after thousands of runners, volunteers, supporters and local residents came together for a fantastic day of community sport on Sunday.
Organised by Ilkley & District Round Table, the event once again showcased the best of Ilkley, bringing together runners of all ages and abilities for a memorable challenge through the town and surrounding countryside.
The popular race, which includes both the Half Marathon and 5K events, delivered an exciting atmosphere throughout the day, with enthusiastic crowds cheering on participants and a dedicated team of volunteers helping to ensure the event ran smoothly.

Most importantly, the event continues to make a significant difference locally, with all profits donated to good causes across the Ilkley area. While the final fundraising total from the 2026 event is still being calculated, the race has typically raised more than £50,000 each year, providing valuable support to local charities, community groups and projects.

A spokesperson from Ilkley & District Round Table, said:
“Ilkley Half Marathon & 5K 2026 has been a brilliant success. We are incredibly grateful to every runner who took part, every volunteer who gave their time, the spectators who created such a great atmosphere, and all of our sponsors and partners who helped make the event happen.
“The most rewarding part of organising the race is knowing that the money raised goes straight back into the local community. We are proud that this event continues to generate significant funds for good causes in and around Ilkley.”
The organisers thanked residents, businesses, volunteers, emergency services and local supporters for their patience, enthusiasm and contribution to another successful race day.

With the 2026 event building on the success of previous years, Ilkley Half Marathon & 5K remains one of the region’s standout community running events, combining sporting achievement with a lasting positive impact on the local area.
The final fundraising total will be announced once all proceeds have been confirmed.
