On the hunt for plants to spruce up your home? Do you love nature and learning about wildlife? Thinking of ways to entertain the kids for free? Then the Ilkley Manor House Spring Fair is perfect for you!
A spokesperson for Ilkley Manor House said:
“Join us from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, 26 April when the courtyard will be buzzing with activity. Children can enjoy hands-on fun at the free planting stall! Get your hands dirty, plant your own seeds, and learn how things grow.
“Visitors can donate, buy, or swap plants at the Ilkley Manor House stall. Bring along healthy plants or seedlings you’d like to swap or donate and browse a selection of beautiful plants grown in our own medieval garden. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, it’s a great chance to share, learn, and take home something green!”

Joining the fair is Summerfield Nursery, a family-run nursery from Poppleton, specialising in herbaceous perennials and shrubs.
Tom Bromley of Burnt Orchid will also be selling his beautiful hand-forged kitchenware, copper utensils, and gardening ornaments.
Climate Action Ilkley will be on hand to share practical tips for sustainable living and information about local community projects that are making a real difference.
Meanwhile, the team behind the ACE Bogs project, led by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, will be available to discuss their work on peatland conservation at Denton Reserve. Visitors are also invited to explore the accompanying exhibition in the Western Gallery.
The spokesperson adds:
“After perusing the stalls, visitors can relax in the courtyard with refreshments and live music. SoulJazz2, a talented duo, will bring their smooth, feel-good vibes with a blend of soulful melodies and jazzy grooves to the courtyard from 12 to 2pm.”
