Get ready for a night of dazzling music, unforgettable characters, and a thrilling tale of self-discovery as Ilkley Musical Theatre Society brings Pippin the stage at the King’s Hall, Ilkley, from March 5th to 8th 2025.
Written by Stephen Schwartz, the mastermind behind the iconic Wicked, the music and lyrics of Pippin may be lesser-known but are every bit as catchy and memorable.

A spokesperson for Ilkley Musical Theatre Society said:
"With our live band, pit singers and talented cast pouring their hearts into every note, you’ll be humming the tunes long after the final curtain falls.
“At the heart of Pippin is a troupe of traveling performers whose sole aim is to put on a show-stopping spectacle, complete with a dramatic finale. The story follows Pippin, a young prince and real historical figure, as he embarks on a journey to find meaning in his life. Expect battles, betrayal, romance, and a touch of magic – all set against the backdrop of a troupe that breaks the fourth wall and starts to question whether there’s more to life than the show they put on for their audience.
“Our talented cast, ranging from young children to seasoned performers aged 80+, has been working tirelessly to bring this spectacular story to life. Not only will you be entertained by their singing, dancing, and even circus tricks, but when they’re not rehearsing, our cast and society members are busy painting, building, sewing, and crafting the set, props, and costumes. It’s a true community effort, with local people supporting the local arts – and we couldn’t be prouder.
“As a new member of the society this year, I can honestly say I’ve never experienced a sense of community quite like this. The dedication and camaraderie among the cast and crew is truly unmatched. This show has been a labour of love, and I’ve never enjoyed a production more than this one. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss!!"
