Dan's Den in Ilkley has announced a charity walk and would love families, children and everyone to join in!
Dan’s Den has been Ilkley’s soft play centre with a warm heart since 2015, one of only a few not-for-profit soft play centres in the UK. As a not-for-profit centre, it run with the help of a group of volunteers and paid staff overseen by a board of trustees, and help cover costs through grant applications and fundraising.
A spokesperson for Dan's Den told us about the walk:
"We're excited to share that the Dan’s Den team is taking on the Ilkley 3 Bridges trail—not just once, but four times on 28th September! That’s over 11km of fun and challenge. Our aim is to help raise vital funds for our 10-year anniversary refurbishment plans and to keep the Den running and growing for years to come.
"We’re family-focused and community-driven. We’re so much more than just another children’s play facility. Not only do we offer soft play, but we also provide specific SEN sessions, singing sessions, and craft sessions. Our space is also used by wider community groups.
"You can support our charity walk in two ways. First, you can join us on the day—we would love to welcome as many community members and children as possible. Don’t worry, little ones aren’t expected to complete the 11km walk; even joining for one lap or one bridge would be fantastic. You can pick up a sponsorship form from Dan’s Den or request one by email dansden@outlook.com"
If you are unable to join the team on the day, you can still support the centre by donating through the Just Giving link.
"Every donation, regardless of its size, is greatly appreciated."
Added the spokesperson.
The walk will take place on Sunday 28th September at 10.30am, starting at The Riverside Hotel.
