Ilkley Civic Society [ICS] is planning its 2025 Awards and needs residents help by nominating projects in and around the town.
Each year ICS runs a competition to promote good design and conservation of buildings and spaces in the town. This competition is divided into 3 sections:
-
Design - for new buildings or extensions
-
Conservation - for works to historic buildings or features
-
Improvements - for smaller projects or environmental improvements
ICS says all works on the project need to have been substantially complete by 30th June this year to qualify for the current awards round.
A spokesperson said:
“In each section we have Awards for exemplars and Commendations for other projects that have still made a positive contribution to the town.
“Should a project be successful, the applicant and architect/builder would be invited to the presentation of certificates to be held in October 2025. Following the presentation, we seek publicity for the achievement of winners of certificates.
“Should you be interested in us judging the exterior of any property please contact the Society. Any member of the public, a group, owners of property or the architect/developer is allowed to nominate works for consideration by the society.
“We look forward to receiving your nominations, previous successful projects have progressed to win regional awards from professional bodies involved in construction.”
