The Original Factory Shop in Ben Rhydding has announced it will close its doors on Saturday 19th October 2024.
An application to demolish the building on the corner of the A65 and Wheatley Lane and build a chain cafe was approved by Bradford Council’s planning panel in August. The plans had attracted more than 160 objections during the planning stage.
The building had previously been a garage and car showroom, Ross Brothers.
Customers commented on Facebook after reading the news:
"A good shop ,will be sad to see it close, hope the staff find other jobs." and "I’ve loved the factory shop for so many years, sorry to see it go".
In a post on its Facebook page, the store said:
"We take this opportunity to thank all of the local community and our store colleagues for their support throughout our time here in Ilkley."
After its closure the nearest Original Factory Shop will be in Otley.
