Police seize illegal tobacco & vapes from Ilkley shop

Illegal tobacco & vape seizures in Ilkley and Keighley [West Yorkshire Police]

A shop in Ilkley was raided by police last week as part of a Keighley wide illegal tobacco & vape seizure.

The premises involved were in Ilkley, The Break Room and Keighley, Moon Mini Market, Keighley Off Licence, Mr Blue, Keighley Continental and News Cabin.

The operation resulted in the seizure of 1,265 packs of cigarettes, 359 pouches of hand‑rolling tobacco and 275 illegal vapes, which police say has an estimated value of £41,000.

A spokesperson for the policing team said:

"This action follows a series of successful joint warrants carried out in December 2025, and we will continue working with our partners to tackle criminality in Keighley. Our partners at West Yorkshire Trading Standards will continue the investigations in respect of these premises and offences."

Linda Davis, Head of Trading Standards (Protecting Communities), said:

“Thank you to all partners and members of the public for reporting illegal sales. The illegal tobacco trade is far from a victimless crime – it costs the government billions in lost revenue, makes it easier for children to start smoking, exploits families, and helps fund organised crime.”

Keighley Neighbourhood Policing Team encourage anyone with information about illegal tobacco or vape sales to report it, saying the public information helps keep the communities safe.
